Victoria Hargrave, founder of The Tanning Room and Beau Bronzage, has announced the arrival of Prep & Prolong, a natural body wash created to support healthier skin and extend the life of professional and self-applied tans.
Launching on Friday 12th December, the product will be rolled out across all Tanning Room locations, marking a further expansion of the Beau Bronzage skincare and tanning range.
The idea behind Prep & Prolong was born from a recurring issue Victoria has witnessed over many years in the tanning industry. Many commonly used body washes contain soaps, synthetic fragrances and drying agents that break down tanning solutions and compromise skin health. Her new formulation is 94% natural in origin, completely soap-free, and balanced to respect both the skin’s pH and microbiome. By cleansing gently rather than stripping the skin, it helps ensure even tan development and can allow results to last up to 14 days when paired with correct preparation.
Beau Bronzage has maintained a strong commitment to natural ingredients and UK manufacturing since its launch, and Prep & Prolong continues that philosophy. The body wash now sits alongside the brand’s established tan accelerators and self-tan products and will be made available to salons beyond The Tanning Room network as Victoria works to expand professional distribution during 2026.
The origins of Beau Bronzage can be traced back to an unexpected turning point. After lockdown restrictions eased, Victoria found it difficult to source a spray tan product she genuinely trusted, leading her to develop one herself. That same entrepreneurial mindset first emerged in 2013, when a routine visit to a tanning salon ahead of a family holiday — following her mother’s recovery from kidney cancer — exposed a gap in the market. Within weeks, she opened her first salon in Witney.
Since that initial launch, the business has grown into a multi-award-winning brand with salons across Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. The Tanning Room currently operates from Witney, Carterton, Swindon, Cirencester and West Swindon. Earlier this year, Victoria made the difficult decision to close the Stroud salon in response to economic conditions, increased costs and reduced footfall. The move allowed resources to be redistributed, resulting in one Swindon location increasing revenue by 60% in its first month.
In addition to overseeing her growing business portfolio, Victoria recently completed an MBA at Hult University and graduated at the Royal Festival Hall in August 2025. Having left school without qualifications, the achievement represents a significant personal milestone alongside her professional success.
“Prep & Prolong is something I’ve wanted to bring to the market for a long time,” said Victoria. “So many people don’t realise their body wash is the reason their tan fades quickly or goes patchy. This formula is simple, natural and kind to the skin and it genuinely makes a difference. When you prep properly, your tan should last so much longer.”
“I’m passionate about keeping my products UK-manufactured. A lot of salon brands are produced abroad and spend months on shelves before they even reach customers. I want Beau Bronzage to offer something fresher, cleaner, and more reliable for both clients and professionals.”
Prep & Prolong is available now via The Tanning Room salons, Amazon and TikTok Shop, with further Beau Bronzage product innovations scheduled for 2026.
