Plamil Foods has announced the release of a refreshed vegan chocolate bar range, combining new packaging with a wider variety of flavour options.
The move comes amid significant changes in the confectionery industry, where rising costs have led many brands to shrink bar sizes or remove lines from sale. Plamil has introduced 40g bars, retailing at £1.75, aiming to preserve portion size while managing market pressures.
The rebrand also sees a complete overhaul of Plamil’s packaging, designed to deliver greater visibility in stores and align the company more strongly with today’s plant-based chocolate category.
The collection features five new recipes:
- Hazelnot Praline Flavour Bar – delivering the flavour of hazelnut praline without nuts.
- Low Sugar Dark Chocolate Bar (72% Cocoa) – a reduced-sugar choice in the dark chocolate range.
- Salted Caramel Bar – combining vegan chocolate with caramel.
- Coffee Chocolate Bar – chocolate blended with coffee flavouring.
- Extra Dark Chocolate Bar (87% Cocoa) – for those who prefer a bold cocoa profile.
All bars are produced in Plamil’s nut-free UK facility, powered entirely by renewable energy. The cocoa is Rainforest Alliance certified, underlining the brand’s ongoing commitment to ethical sourcing.
Adrian Ling, Managing Director of Plamil Foods, stated: “Plamil has continued to invest in product development at a time when the confectionery market is facing significant challenges. This range highlights our approach to combining flavour variety, contemporary design, and consistency in ethical production.”
The products are now on sale through Plamil’s online store, independent health food shops, and a range of UK retailers. Distribution partners include CLF, Suma, Dundeis, Green City, and Independent Irish.
Since the 1950s, Plamil Foods has been recognised as one of the UK’s earliest producers of vegan-certified chocolate, continuing its focus on allergen safety, renewable energy use, and sustainable sourcing.
