The Granite City is preparing for a celebration of Scotland’s national spirit as Whisky Week returns to Aberdeen from 21–31 August 2025.
Back for its second year, the festival will see 24 whisky bars across the city hosting tastings, offering exclusive menus, and pouring special drams. Whether seasoned whisky lovers or first-time explorers, visitors can enjoy a journey through Aberdeen’s whisky scene.
Drams will be available from as little as £3, with every venue featuring at least one option at £5 or less. The aim is discovery—giving participants the chance to try new expressions, uncover rare bottles, and enjoy whisky in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Whisky Week is designed to strip away barriers, making the whisky experience fun, approachable, and inclusive.
Special events include a three-hour guided walking tour on Saturday 23 August, led by whisky expert Fraser Campbell, exploring Aberdeen’s colourful distilling history with four drams included along the way.
On Friday 29 August, Fierce Bar will host a Whisky & Beer Pairing, featuring five whiskies—The Glenlivet 12 & 15, Aberlour 12 & 16, and Chivas Regal 18—paired with five Fierce beers, guided by Sam Alexander of Chivas Brothers.
Meanwhile, at the Aberdeen Whisky Shop, visitors can take on the Mystery Flight challenge. For £9, participants receive three drams to identify from a list of 15. Those who get all three right will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 voucher.
Tickets are on sale now from just £6. Each wristband is valid for the full 10 days and comes with a festival guidebook – packed with the full line-up, space for tasting notes, and background information on every distillery being showcased.
Founder Charlie Bain explained: “Whisky Week is about showing that whisky isn’t something to be intimidated by. It’s a chance to discover new whiskies, explore Aberdeen’s best whisky bars, and enjoy the city in a completely different way. From rare whiskies to everyday pours, there’s something here for everyone.”
