The Wheelwright’s Arms is celebrating being named in the ‘Good Beer Guide’ The Havant based establishment has been named in this guide for the first time, which is amazing news for the traditional country pub.

The Good Beer Guide is produced by the Campaign for Real Ale. The Guide includes the best 4.500 pubs for beer located throughout the UK. The Wheelwright Arms is a part of the Upham Pub Group which is a premium pub collective. The Wheelwright Arms is a 150-year-old pub that offers its customers seasonal and locally sourced produce crafted into delicious food and premium drinks. The country pub also offers a range of real ales which have been created in the group’s own Upham brewery.

The Good Beer Guide 2018, in which The Wheelwright’s Arms has been named, is in its 45th edition. The guide is completely independent and has listings that have been based entirely on nomination and evaluation from members of the Campaign for Real Ale who regularly visit pubs up and down the country in order to deliver a rating that has been based on the standard of the beers on offer. The guide as built up a reputation over the past 45 years as being a guide that consumers can trust as the list published each year has been formed by people who are knowledgeable and passionate about good beer. The guide also has a fundraising capacity, which is put towards campaigning for real ale, community pubs and drinkers’’ rights.

The General Manager of The Wheelwright’s Arms, Dave Livingstone has expressed his delight at being named on the Good Beer Guide, despite the tough competition from other pubs across the UK. The Guide is seen as a go-to by drinkers therefore it is excellent news that the Havant based pub has been selected to feature in the latest edition. It is now the aim of the management to ensure that the pub continues to remain at this standard, and improve wherever they can.

Fentimans Ginger Beer Campaign Underway

Fentimans, the producer of a range of premium soft drink and mixers has announced that they will be launching their first national campaign that will be dedicated to Ginger Beer. Fentimans Ginger Beer is known for being the original and bestselling premium adult soft drink. Sales of this product have been recorded at 29% year on year growth in the on-trade.

Fentimans have started the campaign by launching an experimental activity which has taken place at a number of different leading universities. The aim of the experiment is to introduce Ginger Beer to a new generation of consumers. The tour of this campaign started on Sunday the 17th September at St. Andrews University. Following this launch, the campaign tour will also see the beverage being offered at Durham, Exeter, Cirencester and York.

There is a significant level of competition between brands seeking to appeal to this sought-after audience. In order to fight for an edge, Fentimans has teamed up with the theatre company that worked on the highly successful ‘Gin Chronicles’, a hit at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe. The theatre company have been recruited by the premium soft drink and mixer company to perform street theatre in the quadrangles of some of the most prestigious education establishments in the UK. The brand has also launched an Instagram competition in order to appeal to the university students. The #FreshAsFentimans competition will reward the poshest pre-drinks party held at each University.

This experimental campaign will also be supported by a digital campaign, which will consist of targeted print advertising and in store activity throughout September and October. Fentimans is focused on delivering an integrated campaign that focuses on Ginger Beer in order to try and recruit a younger audience for this refreshing beverage. The university campaign is only the start of more ambitious plans over the course of the next months and years.

In November the Conrad Algarve will undergo a transformation to a gastronomic talent. The event, the Culinary Extravaganza, is known for being the culinary event of the year. The three-day gourmet showcase will be taking place between the 4th and the 6th November, hosted by Conrad Algarve. There will be a number of Michelin-starred and well known chefs will be at the five-star Conrad Algarve throughout this event in order to create a range of exclusive events. These events will be ticketed and hosted by Heinz Beck, one of the world’s leading chefs.

Heinz Beck is a 3 Michelin Starred Chef known as one of the most notable gastronomy in the world. The Chef is known for his unique interpretation of dishes and displays great culinary talent, with the highest level of attention given to the selection of ingredients and their transformation into amazing flavours. Beck has seven restaurants located around the world, these include Michelin-Starred La Pergola and the critically acclaimed GUSTO at Conrad Algarve.

GUSTO has already established itself as a gourmet hotspot and last November achieved new culinary heights by launching the inaugural Culinary Extravaganza. The event was a huge success and Conrad Algarve will be hosting this foodie event for the second year running. It is thought that this event is now a part of the annual gourmet initiative that will now encompass the Hilton brand. The Culinary Extravaganza is hosted by Chef Heinz Beck and this year’s lineup will see the collaboration of some of the top Chefs, Sommeliers and Mixologists features on the Hilton’s fine dining portfolio.

The Culinary Extravaganza will have a range of glamorous events during the three-day event including a Grand Opening Event, a BBQ Brunch at Dado Q, a Roof Garden Suite lunch and many more. This series of exciting event are great for any food lover, to see some of the best food and drink available showcased and celebrated.
