HelloCanvas.co.uk the photo printing company, has found through a survey of 2,000 British adults that British people take an average of 3 photos each day. This amounts to around 1,095 each year, a staggering amount of pictures. Even more astounding, the research has found that those in the 18-30 year old category are even more happy to snap, taking on average 11 photos each day, which is an amazing 4,015 photos every year.

Of these thousands of photos that are taken every year, 48% of them are selfies. The research also found that 21% of the photos taken each year is of food and drink, 16% capture scenery and landscapes and 12% are snas of pets or animals.

Despite the masses of photos that are taken, it is thought that only 24% make the final cut to be uploaded to social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. 19% of the photos that are taken each year are sent through messaging platforms such as Snapchat and Whatsapp.

With these social media sites and technology meaning that photos can be stored and shared on a digital platform, it is easier than ever to make a memory by taking a photograph. The instant access to camera through phones and tablets also means that nothing it too trivial to capture ‘on film’, meaning snapping a picture is a daily occurrence for the majority of people. This photo sharing capability allows friends and families to snap, share and enjoy a moment instantly.
