Adam Smith of Coworth Park will be joining Mark Poynton on Wednesday 8th October for a one-off collaborative dinner at the Ancient Shepherd’s in Fen Ditton.
The evening will feature an eight-course menu, with four dishes created by each chef, designed to show off their individual styles while coming together as one experience. The menu will be priced at £150 per person, with the option of a £95 wine flight to match.
Together Mark and Adam will create a menu that celebrates autumn and the very best of the season. Guests can expect dishes such as BBQ’d Scallop with smoked roe, citrus, and golden oscietria caviar; Poached cod with Mark’s signature curry sauce; Wyndford Farm Wagyu with shallot, parsley and mustard; and Apricot & almond ice cream sandwiches.
Adam Smith, best known for his precise, elegant cooking and background as a Roux Scholar, has gone on to earn a reputation as one of the UK’s leading chefs. His food blends classic technique with a modern approach, and was quickly recognised with a Michelin Star.
Mark Poynton has built his career in Cambridge, first as chef-patron of Alimentum where he held a Michelin star, and more recently at restaurant Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall, which opened in 2023 and has been awarded with a Michelin star for 2025.
Mark opened his latest restaurant Ancient Shepherd’s in Fen Ditton this July. The restaurant with rooms is located on the site of Mark’s former restaurant, MJP @ The Shepherd’s. Now offering a tasting-menu only, this heralds an exciting next chapter for Mark and team where thoughtful, ingredient-led cooking is offered in a relaxed village setting, with a focus on seasonality, sustainability and the best of British produce.
The Ancient Shepherd’s makes the perfect backdrop, with its cosy and characterful dining room, between two chefs who share a respect for produce and a love of cooking with real flavour.
Bookings are now open for this one-off chance to experience both Mark and Adam’s food in one inventive evening. Bookings can be made to [email protected].
