Mississippi Thunder Speedway (MTS) has announced its eagerly awaited 2025 schedule, featuring an impressive array of exhilarating weekly races and main events designed to captivate fans. In collaboration with top-tier series such as the Northern Lights Modified Series (NLMS), World of Outlaws Late Models, and IRA Sprint Cars, MTS is poised to present one of its most thrilling seasons yet.
The 2025 Modified World Championship is a brand-new, high-stakes racing event debuting at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin. This inaugural four-day showdown brings together the best Modified and Late Model drivers from across the country to compete for a massive $100,025 grand prize.
Racing fans can catch all the action live on FloRacing or GamePass.TV, with each night building up to the final feature race on Saturday.
Modified World Championship Format
Wednesday – May 28
- Practice and qualifying for Modifieds only.
- Up to 200 cars split into five groups.
- Drivers qualify for Thursday and Friday preliminary races.
Thursday & Friday – May 29-30
- 10-lap heat races based on Wednesday’s qualifying.
- Odd heats go to Feature A; even heats to Feature B.
- Top 3 from each heat advance to A or B Feature.
- 2 B-Mains per Feature, 12 laps each (top 4 advance).
- All A & B Features are 30 laps.
- Top 5 from each Feature (10 total) lock into Saturday’s A-Main.
- Drivers can choose to re-qualify Friday, but must give up Thursday’s results.
Saturday – May 31
- 20 drivers are locked in from Thursday/Friday.
- Remaining drivers run through “alphabet soup” mains (starting with I-Main).
- Top 12 advance in each letter race; B-Main sends top 10 to A-Main.
- Top finishers from Thurs/Fri redraw for A-Main starting positions.
- A-Main is 80 laps with a lap 40 pit stop (fuel + 1 tire).
- Non-qualified drivers compete in a separate 25-lap, $2,525-to-win race.

- 4 PM: Pit gates open
- 5 PM: Front gate opens
- 6 PM: Modified practice sessions
- 8 PM: Qualifying for Thursday & Friday
Thursday & Friday, May 29–30
- 3 PM: Pit gates open
- 5 PM: Front gates open
- 6 PM: Driver’s meeting
- 6:30 PM: Stock Car hot laps
- 7 PM: Opening ceremonies
- Modified & Stock Car Heats → B-Mains → Features
Saturday, May 31
- 3 PM: Pit gates open
- 5 PM: Front gate opens
- 6:30 PM: Driver’s meeting
- 7 PM: Opening ceremonies
- Modified Alphabet Mains (I through B)
- Non-Qualifier Feature (25 laps)
- Stock Car A-Main (40 laps)
- Modified A-Main (80 laps)
