The Predator franchise is taking a new turn in 2025, as the deadliest hunter in sci-fi history makes his return, this time in an animated anthology film on Disney+. Predator: Killer of Killers will bring the iconic alien hunter face-to-face with some of the fiercest warriors in history, including vikings, samurais, and even a World War II pilot. The film promises a bloody and action-packed adventure, setting the stage for a thrilling new chapter in the Predator saga.
What Is Predator: Killer of Killers About?
This new animated project marks the sixth film in the Predator series and the eighth overall in the franchise. It’s also the first time the iconic series has ventured into animation. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and Micho Robert Rutare, the film features three different segments, each set in a different historical period.
The stories will follow three warriors: a vengeful viking raider who leads her son on a brutal quest for revenge; a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his samurai brother in a violent battle for succession; and a World War II pilot who investigates a deadly threat from beyond the stars. In all cases, these formidable human warriors will face the ultimate hunter, the Predator, in life-or-death battles that test both their strength and their resolve.
With a star-studded voice cast that includes Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Rick Gonzalez, and Michael Biehn, this anthology-style film promises to deliver a fresh and exciting take on the iconic Predator universe. Predator: Killer of Killers will be available to stream on Disney+ worldwide and Hulu in the United States starting June 6, 2025.

A Potential Link to Alien?
Fans of the Predator series have already started buzzing about a potential connection to the Alien franchise. In one of the final shots of the trailer, it appears that a Yautja, the alien species of the Predator, is wearing a cloak made of Xenomorph tails. This could suggest that the Predator has already encountered and defeated the deadly acid-blooded aliens, which would be a surprising twist and a nod to the established connection between the two universes.
Given that both the Alien and Predator franchises are owned by the same parent company and have crossed over in the past — through comic books, video games, and two feature films — the idea of merging the two worlds once again is highly plausible. The franchise has already hinted at these connections, with the skulls of Xenomorphs appearing as trophies in past Predator films, including Predator 2 in 1990.
What’s even more intriguing is that Dan Trachtenberg, the director of Predator: Killer of Killers, is also working on the upcoming Predator: Badlands. This film, which features Elle Fanning as an android seemingly created by the infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation (a central figure in the Alien franchise), might serve as another link between the two universes.
Why You Should Watch It
Predator: Killer of Killers isn’t just a typical action-packed ride — it’s an innovative exploration of history and technology. By pitting the iconic Predator against some of the most legendary warriors from different cultures, the film adds new layers to the franchise while staying true to its roots of intense action and suspense. With stunning animation, a unique story structure, and the potential crossover with the Alien universe, this is one film that sci-fi fans won’t want to miss in 2025.
