‘It’s Time’ for London to experience raki once again as Yeni Raki, the world’s number 1 selling raki brand, returns for Cocktails in the City 2023, showcasing fresh signature cocktails and an exciting new bar collaboration with Mayfair’s Rüya.
From Thursday, 7th September to Saturday, 9th September 2023, Bedford Square Gardens will host thousands of cocktail lovers looking for their next favourite tipple. After the resounding success of July’s event, which saw the Yeni Raki stand bustling with activity, anticipation is mounting once more with the unveiling of a partnership with the esteemed restaurant and bar, Rüya.
Inspiring excitement about this exclusive partnership is the esteemed Evening Standard food and drink columnist and Cocktails in the City judge, Douglas Blyde, who commented:
“I’m sure your collaboration with the excellent Rüya at Cocktails in the City will be super. Your Yeni Raki stand at the last event was the only one offering true and proper hospitality. I particularly loved the Basil Sour Dem cocktail.”
For those who missed out on July’s sell-out event, September will be the time to try the legendary Basil Sour Dem for yourself. Created by Yeni Raki as the epitome of a signature raki-infused cocktail, this refreshing botanical creation was the festival’s favourite, combining Yeni Raki Uzun Demleme with basil and cucumber.
Rüya has also crafted two unique Yeni Raki-infused cocktails created by renowned Head Mixologist Francesco Medici. New to the Yeni Raki x Rüya bar will be the Pear Raki Fizz, a fruity, fizzy and refreshing concoction combining Yeni Raki 1937 with lemon juice, cinnamon, apple, pear, and lemonade. Catering to every fizz lover, this delicious tipple will also be available as a fruity non-alcoholic option. Rüya’s second creation, the Raki Berry Crush, is set to tantalise taste buds with its fruity blend of Yeni Raki 1937 with blackberry puree, cranberry juice, lime juice, cloves, and mint.
Located in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Rüya, which means ‘dream’ in Turkish has become one of Mayfair’s most esteemed Anatolian dining destinations. Owned by the prestigious Dogus Restaurant and Management Group, which boasts respected restaurants Roka and Coya in its portfolio, Rüya was the perfect bar partner choice for Yeni Raki.
Raki is an anise-flavoured spirit with a distinctive liquorice-like taste similar to Italy’s Sambuca or Greece’s Ouzo. Yeni Raki is the world’s most famous raki product. Steeped in a 500-year-old tradition, Yeni raki is traditionally blended with water and enjoyed with family and friends over mezze, making each sip an opportunity to strengthen bonds and connect.
Available from Amazon, Yeni Raki proudly offers its classic ‘Yeni Raki 1937’ and craft variation ‘Yeni Raki Uzun Demleme’. Yeni Raki 1937 is the brand’s original raki product, crafted by adding aniseed to twice-distilled grapes from the Anatolian region resulting in a unique 45% premium grape spirit. Launched in 2020, Turkey’s first craft raki, Yeni Raki Uzun Demleme, is created using a drop-by-drop distillation method with age-old copper pot stills. Suma distillation time is extended from 48 hours to 72 hours to bring the purity and smoothness of raki to its peak without adding sugar.
In 2024, Yeni Raki’s ‘It’s Time’ campaign, in partnership with creative agency Magnetic, will see the brand pop up across the UK, collaborating with bars, designers, and festivals to promote its range of premium raki products. For those who can’t wait, tickets are still available for London’s Cocktails in the City in September (but be quick, as this is always a sell-out event). Come and visit the Yeni Raki x Rüya stand to join some interactive juggling fun courtesy of entertainer The Professional Fool. Enjoy a complimentary cocktail, and spin the ‘Spirit to Win It’ wheel to win prizes, ranging from free bottles of Yeni Raki to limited edition Yeni Raki serving glasses.
On a mission to inspire conversation, Yeni Raki is looking to partner with distributors, stockists, hospitality groups, and venues nationwide to introduce this premium grape spirit to a British audience.
It’s Time for the UK to get involved and experience Yeni Raki. It’s Time to try something new. It’s #YeniRakiTime
