- Tim burton Alice Through the Looking Glass was released 2016 – linked to rise in Cheshire Cat and Mad Hatter costume interest increases for 2017
- Mary Poppins costume searches increased in 2018 and 2019 – Mary Poppins Returns movie was released 2018
- 2018 was the only year Spider-man wasn’t top – beaten by Moana (Moana released 2016 so not impacted by film release)
- Stormtrooper costumes increased in interest in 2017- linked to Last Jedi release in 2017
- Marvel characters are consistently popular – tying in with regular standalone and Avengers movies (Avengers Infinity War 2018 and Endgame 2019)
- Black Panther made the top 10 from its release in 2018 – bypassing older, classic costumes
- Elsa costume searches rose again in 2020 after the release of Frozen 2 in late 2019
- Princess Jasmine back in the top 10 in 2020 after Aladdin 2019 release
- Maleficent made top 10 in 2019 – Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil released 2019
