Venture fund Roosh Ventures has entered the Sifted ranking compiled by a leading European media outlet supported by the Financial Times. The Ukrainian investment fund secured 43rd place, becoming the first and only domestic player to appear on the list.
Three of its portfolio companies—Gladia, Alma and Folk—were also included among the region’s 100 fastest-growing startups. This was announced by Serhii Tokarev, an entrepreneur, IT businessman and co-founder of Roosh Ventures.
How the Investment Fund Entered the Sifted Ranking
Roosh Ventures invests in technology startups across Europe and other international markets. The fund successfully entered the top 50 of a prestigious ranking produced by a media outlet specialising in venture capital and startup market analysis.
Several criteria are considered when compiling the Sifted ranking, including:
- The investor’s impact on the development of the local ecosystem
- The quality of its investment portfolio
- The number and intensity of completed deals
The inclusion of a Ukrainian venture fund among the most promising investors in Western Europe demonstrates that a fund’s place of registration is no longer the main factor determining its ability to scale and compete internationally.
Roosh Ventures stands out because positions in such rankings have traditionally been occupied by established local European funds. Its inclusion reflects the growing influence of Ukrainian investors and technology teams within the wider European startup ecosystem.
Three Roosh Ventures Portfolio Companies Recognised
Sifted also recognised Alma, Folk and Gladia, three Roosh Ventures portfolio companies that were included among the region’s 100 most dynamic startups.
These companies operate across different areas of the technology sector:
- Alma is developing an innovative payment system with a focus on responsible consumption.
- Folk creates a customer relationship management platform that gives users greater control over their business relationships.
- Gladia develops artificial intelligence infrastructure for speech analysis and transcription.

This selection, ranging from AI-based solutions to innovative fintech and business tools, demonstrates the wider investment priorities of Roosh Ventures. It also reflects how AI is redefining modern business and leadership, as technology-focused startups continue to transform established markets.
“The appearance of a Ukrainian investment fund in the ranking of a leading European media outlet is not a coincidence, but a natural result of the right approach to selecting projects. Roosh Ventures entered the top 50 lenders and investors in France and the Benelux because we invest in people who change markets. Ukrainian players are already entering the top league, and they are not just catching up, but competing,” says Roosh Ventures co-founder Serhii Tokarev.
Ukrainian Technology Companies Compete Internationally
Investment and technology teams from Ukraine are increasingly becoming serious competitors to established Western companies. Roosh Ventures’ position in the Sifted ranking provides further evidence of this development.
The recognition of the fund and three of its portfolio companies shows that Ukrainian investors, entrepreneurs and technology specialists are not simply following European market trends. They are actively contributing to innovation across artificial intelligence, fintech, business software and other rapidly developing sectors.
Roosh Ventures’ inclusion in the ranking may also help strengthen the international visibility of Ukraine’s startup ecosystem and encourage further collaboration between Ukrainian technology companies and European investors.
