If you’re considering looking closer to home for adventures this summer, UK cities offer hidden gems of vibrant nightlife close to picturesque countryside, interesting heritage and fun activities, and all of them can be reached easily by car or train.

London based astrologer Lucy Porter spoke to iQ Student Accommodation to recommend the perfect UK city breaks according to your star sign.

Lucy comments: “Astrology has helped me make my greatest life decisions, from dates to choose, jobs to take or places to go on holiday. Utilise this insightful, powerful & fun language to lead a life and make choices that are right for you. Your destiny is written in the stars, but only you can make it happen!”

    Brighton

    Pisces (19th February – 20th March)

A must-see is the Royal Pavilion with its exotic Indo-Saracenic architecture, a strikingly unique palace originally built for King George IV. Brighton Pier is well worth a visit for its classic seaside amusement rides, arcades, and tasty treats. The Lanes and North Laine are famous for their narrow, winding streets filled with independent shops, cafes, and boutiques, and the city’s beach and promenade provide a perfect spot for scenic walks, especially during sunrise or sunset.

Lucy says: “Brighton – come rain or shine – is packed full of attractions, activities and entertainment to keep you busy, but Pisces – you’re all about peace. Don’t be afraid to spend some alone time relaxing on the beach and recharging your social battery. Because when the evening comes, too much sun could mean mischievousness is on the horizon.”

    Bradford

    Aries (21st March – 19th April)

Nearby, the Victorian model village of Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers a glimpse into 19th-century life and architecture.

    Lucy says:

“Bradford is a social haven with hundreds of bars, pubs and clubs to discover. If you’re an Aries you love to socialise, meet new people and see what the night brings! For you spontaneity is your superpower, so use this gift to release any built-up tension with a big night out and don’t be afraid to unveil your bright and bubbly personality that everyone loves so much.”
