Symondsbury Kitchen has reopened its doors after an interior refresh aimed at enhancing the experience for returning and new visitors.
The café resumed service at the end of January after a brief closure to complete the renovation work.
“The aim has always been to create somewhere people feel comfortable spending time. Whether that’s stopping for coffee, sharing a meal with friends or simply taking a pause during the day. The refresh allows the space to evolve while keeping the warmth and character people know,” said a spokesperson for the café.
The refurbishment introduced colours drawn from the surrounding landscape in line with the Estate’s Fern Green theme, together with upgraded furniture and more inviting seating.

A newly installed breakfast bar offers a versatile area suited to informal dining, coffee breaks and laptop use.
The updated layout has been designed to echo the character of the estate and encourage guests to relax and stay longer.
Located within the historic Symondsbury estate, the café first opened in 2013 following the restoration of the former agricultural building by Julia and Philip Colfox.
The Colfox family transformed the disused structure into a hospitality space while preserving its heritage features.

Over the years, the venue has built a loyal following among walkers, local families and visitors exploring West Dorset.
Children remain well catered for, with books, games and drawing materials available to maintain an easy-going and inclusive environment.
The menu continues to focus on seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients, with an emphasis on accessible pricing.
Options include breakfast dishes, toasties, changing daily specials, salads, fish pie, homemade cakes, speciality coffee and a menu for children.
Now fully reopened, Symondsbury Kitchen continues to combine local history, seasonal cooking and a relaxed countryside atmosphere.
