This Christmas, The Grand Hotel York will be hosting the most lavishly chic party of the festive season. The Gala Ball will take place on Friday, the 14th of December.
The luxurious five-star hotel emulates the splendour of its Edwardian heyday, alluring visitors with its rich history and charming paradox of quaint grandeur. The building, originally constructed by North Eastern Railway (NER) to be a ‘Palace for Business’, will this Christmas be transformed to become a ‘Palace of Panache’, the perfect platform to host a festive party.
The Grand’s Christmas Gala Ball is set to be the most dazzling date in the calendar this winter. Held in the stunning Grand Boardroom with its ornate, authentic interior, guests will be dressed to impress in black tie and ball gowns and ready for an evening of exquisite food and mesmerising entertainment.
The evening will begin with a Champagne and canapé reception before sitting down for a sumptuous dining experience with a four-course dinner crafted by executive chef, Craig Atchinson and his experienced team.
With Levern Farm duck to start, chestnut velouté to follow, and a variation of tradition for the main course, guests will be served a Yorkshire turkey and cranberry parcel with all the trimmings. A fruity treat with a festive twist will see a clementine posset with red fruit compote and cinnamon palmiers served for dessert, topped off with coffee and petit fours to end the fiesta of flavours.
A spectacle of live music and entertainment will shortly follow, allowing the guests to dance the night away and embrace the festive spirit with colleagues, family or friends.
